Our Challenge

Shidoshi Earlewine and Shidoshi Fetterman make an effort to challenge our students as they move forward on their path of Budo. We feel that this is an important part of their studies as we can have insight to where they need or more importantly want to go. The life of a Budoka is not an easy one at times. Making choices that will affect their lives and those they care about can be difficult.

We start with a challenge from the first day they walk through the Dojo doors. It goes something like this:

"Who are you and what do you want to be?"

"What do you stand for?"

“Are you living life to the fullest potential?”

"Are you a fully realized Human Being?"

“Do you want to walk down a path that will make a difference not only in your life, but all around you, even those you have not met yet?”

"Are you an example for others to follow?"

All we ask is that you enter the dojo with an Open Mind and Open Heart. We will not train individuals who we feel will use this knowledge for wrong doing.

As you continue your training we will ask for goals along the way. Goals that are outside of the dojo…making a difference utilizing what you learn in the dojo, expanding your life experiences and having a positive affect in the community.

Finally, once you begin to challenge yourself and begin to challenge others you will have a higher understanding of your place in life and how much change you can bring to the world.

Live life to the fullest and enjoy the gift of life and love!
